On Wednesday, May 26th, 2004, The Electronic Educational Village (EEV) of Long Island University will be hosting approximately 400 students and their teachers from school districts across the more than 100 miles of Long Island and into New York City - from East Hampton to East Harlem. The EEV’s 13th annual EEV spring celebration held on the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University at which students, academics, community, and business partners lead one another in interactive learning sessions. For K-12, they are related to the New York State Learning Standards. For all, they are related to learning that is joyful and has meaning. Major projects use technology tools for communications, presentation, and design.
The Event
opens at 10 a.m. in the Lecture Hall of Hillwood Commons with greeting
from Long Island University President David Steinberg and songs by the local
musicians. It is followed by four small-group, interactive
sessions of 25 minutes each in more than 25 locations where K-12 students
and community resource partners lead one another as all engage in joyful
learning. The event closes back in the Lecture Hall from 1:00 and
1:30 with Monica Willard from the United Nations and highlighting projects
from throughout the day. The four 25-minute sessions will be located in Hillwood
Commons, in the B. Davis Schwartz Library, and on the grounds of the beautiful
C.W. Post campus.
