Welcome to Your Homepage

Welcome to TEAM, a personal and professional life journey! Your faculty mentor TEAM, your partners in your own TEAM, and partners throughout the Electronic Educational Village will explore the following throughout your two years in the Educational Technology Department:

We are interested in learning systems and learning communities. We are interested in learners within them – how they learn, what they learn, how they may lead and affect change to transform organizations to best accomplish what they most value.

Your East End TEAM 2004-2006 is one of the T.E.A.M.s in C.W. Post's Educational Technology Program. C.W. Post is a campus of Long Island University.

Here's what the semester will be about:

Team building

Building a learning organization with a focus on individual, groups, and wholes and including culture building and creating a shared vision.

Cross-TEAM connecting

Participating in the Electronic Educational Village and collaborative, constructivist actions.

Technologies and applications in real settings

The tools will include laptops with wireless connectivity and telecommunications in addition to using our software programs for word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, web site design, graphic animation, graphic manipulations, video editing and more sophisticated uses of multimedia. All tools, though, will be used in context, applied in real settings.

We will look at the hardware itself and how to organize and manage your computer (e.g., file managements). We'll look at virus protection, downloading and installing files, and much, much more.

For people with advances skills and lots of experience, we'll move on quickly to tools that will challenge and stretch them.

Significant people and ideas

We will read books and gather materials online to read and then examine issues together. Our focus will be on:

Most of you have made the shift in the program to taking charge of your own learning, to using your high energy and enthusiasm to propel you to action. We are enjoying the journey with you! Enjoy it with us and with one another! Onward we go – together!
