If you are anything like me, you are a tad curious about where you will be staying during Camp 2001. In order to allay your fears, I took some photos of the actual dorm rooms. On the right is what the typical Southampton dorm room will look like when you arrive on Sunday, July 15th. But don't despair, with a few cozy items from home you can transform your temporary quarters into something more reminiscent of your college days. (See the photo below). Please remember to pack linens, and you might even want to bring along a favorite photo or stuffed animal! Of course, remember you are "only" going to be away for 4 nights and 5 days! |
| This is what a "real" dorm room looks like -- yes, it was cleaned up a bit for this photo! What a difference a few decorative touches can make. Don't forget your fan -- even though you will be right near the water (actually sandwiched between the Shinnecock Bay on the South, and the Peconic Bay on the North) it can be very warm and balmy even at night. Classrooms and labs will be air conditioned so bring sweaters or light jackets as well. Interested in what the entire suite looks like? Keep scrolling down. | ![]() |

The open door leads out to the balcony
and the Montauk courtyard. Only yards away is a great tennis
court, so if you like to play, bring your favorite racquet,
sunscreen and plenty of balls.
This suite has 3 dorm rooms and a bathroom and shower area. Wondering what the bathroom and showers look like? Yes, I thought you might, so please continue . . . |
| Purely functional, this is the bathroom. Please remember to bring shower shoes! For a photo of the shower, see below. | ![]() |

There are usually two showers per bathroom so there's no waiting time! There is a door to the bathroom -- I just didn't close it when taking this photo! |
| Feel like a game before breakfast? These courts are walking distance from your dorm rooms! Although used for the Southampton Day Camp from 9-3PM each day, you can use the courts before 9AM and after 3PM daily. Maybe you can even tempt the Provost of Southampton (Tim Bishop) to play a few sets with you! | ![]() |

And here's the path you'll take to breakfast and lunch each day. The building directly ahead is called Wood Hall. We'll also be meeting there first thing on Sunday for registration and room assignments. |
