Walls That Talk

Searingtown School

Author: Hi! My name is Megha and I was assigned to research Uganda, Africa. The two countries that my family came from was India and British of India, which is now known as Pakistan. At home we mostly celebrate Indian holidays such as Diwali (where you are supposed to light candles and let go of them and wait till it shoots up in the sky) and Holi (where you are supposed to wear your best clothes and put fire in a tree, but for the second day you  have to wear your worst clothes in order to throw different colors at everyone). When someone gets a new job, new house etc, we are supposed to have a pooja. A pooja is where a priest comes over  and says some things to make the house blessed and to wish you luck in that house, job etc.
