Geography

I am doing a country called Spain, the capital of Spain is called Madrid.  Spain is located in Europe the continent. It's in the northern hemisphere.  The population  is about 40 milllion people in Spain. 

Climate

In Spain they have very hot summers and cool winters and foggy cloudy days. Spain mostly has beautiful weather. 

 

 

Economy

People in Spain work at factories, go to school, paint, go to markets and do lots of other stuff. The families make money by growing crops and sending it to market and working at other places. 

Government

In Spain there is a Queen and King that is head of state. The Parliament is the courts that make up the laws.

Family Values

The grandparents live in the same house with the family sometimes.

     The responsibility of the mother and father is to make the food and make the money. The mother stays at home and the father works. The father works at home or in the fields to grow crops. They celebrate mothers day and fathers day but they don't celebrate grandparent day.

The responsibility that the children have  are to take care of a family member if they are sick. The chores they have to do are to help in the fields. Sometimes they work out of their homes.

In Spain children go to school at age 6. School starts early and finishes late. At age 16 students who pass an exam go to college the college that is popular is Madrid. It has 100,000 students.

 

Language

In Spain they speak spanish, Basque, and Galican . They say hola witch means hello to greet people.  Hola would be a popular word if people came from somewhere else. 

Food

 Fish is a very popular food in Spain so is sausage , ham and cheese. One of the most popular dishes is called  paella It's made with rich broth with some fruits. What they mostly eat everyday are potato corn and rice with some soup. The spices that are used in Spain is pepper.

    People get food by fishing, planting crops like grain.  They grow the crops themselves and they cook by themselves. Some people buy food in the store and some people grow it. 

Cultural Arts

The oldest Spanish writings still exist. Spain has the richest most beautiful art work today. They have the world's finest painters and paintings today. Art is a big thing in Spain - they love art.

Holidays and Festivals

Some holidays and festivales they have in Spain are Tomato Festivals and Christmas. The Tomato Festival is a festival to throw tomatoes at each other and eat tomatoes. Christmas is a holiday to celebrate God's birthday.   

Fun and Recreation

The fun recreation they do in Spain are to dance, play soccer and sing also paint. Children play on the swing set or play soccer.  Also people in Spain love swimming
