Author: Hi my name is Iris and I studied Poland for our Walls That Talk project. My whole family is basically from Korea. My dad  was born in Korea to but he and his family moved to Brazil and lived there for about 10 years. Then they moved to America but I still have a couple relatives in Brazil. I also have some relatives in Australia.

Geography

The country I am studying is Poland. It's capital city is Warsaw. Poland is located in Europe. The neighboring countries are Russia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Slovakia. One important ocean is the Baltic Sea.   

Population

The population of Poland is 38.7 million people.

Economy

Zlotys are the money used in Poland. One U.S dollar equals 15,900 zlotys.

Religion

Major religions practiced in Poland are Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

Useful Expressions:

The language that is spoken in Polish. A person typically greets another person by saying czesc which is pronounced chesht. That means either hi, hello or good-bye. 

Climate

The typical weather patterns throughout the year are cold temperatures with severe winter storms and frequent precipitation. The summers are mild with frequent showers and thunder showers.

Food

Crops that are grown in Poland are potatoes, fruits, vegetables and wheat.

The Polish grow their own crops. The staple food in Poland are potatoes, fruits, vegetables, wheat, etc.

 

Holidays and Festivals

One festival celebrated in Poland is the Seventh International Summer Festival Torun- Music & Architecture. It is celebrated in Torun, kuj- pom- Poland. 

Fun and Recreation

Polish people play all sports. They play soccer, football and some more. They have speed boat races and they breed horses.
