Author -My name is Michael and my family is from Italy and Ireland. I am an 11 year old boy.

Geography

Major rivers of Oregon are the Columbia River, the Willamette River, the Deschute River and the Snake River. Some other rivers are the Deschutes, John Day . Major Lakes  are the Upper and the Klamoth . Some other lakes are the Waldo Lake , Crater Lake and the Harmy Lake.

 

  Population

The current population is 3,421,399.  Life expectancy74.99.

History

Oregon entered the union Febuary14, 1859 and was the 33rd state to enter the union.

In 1542 Spanish explorer Bartolome Ferrelo sailed along the Oregon coast.  In  1774 Spanish explorer Juan Perez searched for a "Northwest Passage." In 1811  John Jacob Aster's Pacific Fur Company was established at Astoria.  In 1852 the territorial capital was moved from Oregon city to Salem.  In 1883 the Northern Pacific Railway reached Portland.   In  1937 The Bonnivevillie Dam was completed

The average temperature is 82.6-32.8.

Economy

Oregon's main products are lumber and paper products.
