Geography

New Jersey is on the continent of North America. New Jersey is located in the United States of America. The neighboring states are Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New York. The important bodies of waters in New Jersey are Delaware Water Gap, and the Atlantic Ocean.  Some interesting facts on New Jersey is that the nickname of the state is "The Garden State."  The capital of the state is Trenton.   

Food

The crops they grow in New Jersey are, corn, potatoes, wheat, vegetables, fruits, soybeans, berries, oats, seafood.

Government

The government in New Jersey is a federal government -it has three important branches they are called the Legislative, Judicial, and the Executive branches. The legislative branch  consists of an upper house and the senate and the lower house. The Judicial is in control of the court system including the country courts, superior courts, and the state Supreme court in the state capital Trenton. Finally the Executive branch is in control of carrying out the laws.

Economy/Tourism

Some places in New Jersey are, Ramapo Lake in the Ringwood Park, The Great Falls of the Passaic River at Paterson,.  Giants Stadium is also located in New Jersey also. In the capitol Trenton there is a building called The Golden Dome. The best place to go in New Jersey is Atlantic City. One of the famous Aquariums in New Jersey is in the town of Camden.

Just about every religion in the world is represented in the United States.

 

Population 

The state population in New Jersey is 8,414,350. The literacy rate of the state is 0.52% {2000 est.}.

Climate

Compared to the other northern states New Jersey's climate is  relatively  mild. In July the average temperature is 74 degrees Fahrenheit. In New Jersey they receive about 46 inches { 117 centimeters} of rainfall.  

Culture/Arts

The New Jersey Ballet: Since 1958, the company has been an integral part of the artistic and cultural landscape of New Jersey. New Jersey Ballet features dancers of international stature from the United States, Russia, Bulgaria, Japan, South America and Mongolia. New Jersey Ballet; 43 years of excellence.

The Atlantic City Historical Museum is a must for history buffs interested in the traditions of America's favorite place to play. The new Fine Arts Center features works of area artists, such as paintings, jewelry and photography past and present.
 

Great Egg Harbor ,129 mi (208 km) long; largest canoeing river in the Pine Barrens. Gateway, Beaches, marshes, islands, and waters in and around New York City. One of the first two national urban recreation areas. Delaware, Swimming, boating, and fishing on Delaware River through the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and Delaware Water Gap.
