Author: My name is Alvin and my family is from India in Asia. I am 10 and I live inthe USA.

Geography

Minnesota is exactly 400 miles long and250 miles wide.also7,326 square miles of covered water. The state has a saying of the name the state of 10,000 lakes. The ice age has effected the land with rugged terain and deep lakes.

 

 

 

The population in a recent poll of Minnesota is 4,919,479. Also most areas that people live is in the southern counties. Mostly only farmers live in the northern part of the state.

 

History

The Native Americans that first settled in Minnesota were the Dakota and Ojibwa Indians. Then the pioneer era came and they took over the land and traded with them. Soon war broke out called the Dakota War. Finally the Indians lost and moved out. 

Economy

Minnesota is in agriculture with mostly vegetables and some fruits. plus meat of beef and sheep. Also there is manufacturing of machinery and lumber for different uses like paper and furniture. Also natural resources from the earth.

Food

Wild Rice is grown in the state along with other farming. Natural food such as different berries are grown.

Just about every religion in the world is represented in the United States.

Fun and Recreation

Minnesota has many national teams of baseball, hockey, and football. The state has 64 state parks and forests. People love to go to the many lakes to fish ,swim and much more in the summer.

Family Values

Education is the top priority of the state which leads the nation for most kids who finish High School. The state's first school dates back to early settlements at Fort Sneling.
