Geography

Iran is a Middle Eastern country south of the Caspian sea and North of the Persian Gulf. It is three times the size of Arizona. The capital of Iran is Tehran.  Some of the largest cities in Iran are Tehran, Mashad,and Esfan.    

Population

The population of Iran is 68,278,826 ( growth rate 1.2% birth  rate: 17.2/1000;infant morality rate: 44.2/1000.) Urban population will reach 92.5 million or about 75 percent of a total population of 123.5 million in 2025, from 38.5 million or 58 percent of total population in 1994, according to the United Nations Information office in Tehran. Iran's life expectancy is 70.2. 

Climate

Iran has a variable climate. In the north west, winters are cold with heavy snowfall and subfreezing temperatures during December and January. Spring and fall are relatively mild, while summers are dry and hot. In the south, winters are mild and summers are very hot, having average daily temperatures in July exceeding 38°C 

Government

The December 1979 Iranian constitution defined the political economic and social order of the Islamic republic. It declares that shia's Islam of the twelve ( Jaafari ) sect is Iran's official religion. The country is governed by secular and religious leaders, a council of religious leaders. Economy

Cattle, Wool, Wheat, Barley, Rice, Sugar, Beets, Cotton, Raisins, Tea and  tobacco,  They provide energy (nearly 90% of Iran's electricity is generated in thermal plants), burning petroleum products natural gas, or coal, and almost all the rest is produced in hydroelectric facilities

Religion

The major religions in Afghanistan are Pakistani, Muslim, and Hindu. Their religious beliefs are to pray five times a day or three times a day.   

Education

Children between 6 and 10 has to go to school.  Esfahan university of shiraz is a school.

 

Holidays

Eid-e Fetr,a one day festival of feasting, No Ruz or Iranian New Year (21 to March 24).

Food

Common ingredients are rice, bread, fresh vegetables, herbs, and fruits. Small portions of meat are often added for flowering. Meat is not usually a main course. Iran cooking also uses dried fruits, nuts, spices like cardamon and sumac to create a sweet mixture of sweet and bitter tastes. Breakfast might be boiled or fried egg, a thin oven baked bread called lavash served with yogurt, jam or honey and tea. Iranian's are not aloud to eat pork. 

Language

 Farsi sometimes called Persian, Arabic, Azari but they mostly speak Farsi. Farsi: 65%, Azari: 25%, Arabic: 4%, Lors: 2%, Turkmen: 2%, Kurdish, Armenian, Jewish
