Geography

The republic of Haiti consists of the western third of the island of Hispaniola, the second largest island in the Caribbean. The other two-thirds belong to the Dominican Republic. Covering the total area of 10,741 square miles ( 27,750 square km).

Population

The population of Haiti is 7. 2  million is almost entirely made up with lots of Haitians. 5,000 slaves were brought to work on plantations .

Climate

The weather that's more usual is the hurricane,  the wind, and rain. The Haitians sometimes  get full sunny days.

Economy

Compared to the Western Hemisphere the Haitians are very poor . If we convert American $dollars into Haitian money , today the official rate is five gourds  to one US dollar , but almost money is exchanged  at the parallel rate , which was approximately 15 gourds  to one US dollar in late 1995.  

Food

The Haitians love spicy food . That's all they love to make. They always eat fruits during anytime of the day. Some Haitians make plane rice, they make a special dish called the "grillet' it's made from fried marinated pork, served with a very spicy sauce called "sauce ti malice". If the Haitians don't make spicy food they wouldn't be used to any normal food because they only eat spicy food. Even children eat spicy food with their parents or by themselves. The Haitians grow corn and spices. The Haitians make food by cooking, while the men go out to work. The Haitians sometimes grow crops by themselves or usually they Buy it or sometimes they make it at their home. No they make it and they sometimes buy it. The Haitians staple food is, fruits, and rice.
