Religion
Taoism and
Buddhism are the two main religious beliefs in China. Two important themes
in Chinese spirituality are harmony and balance. Many people practice
the Taoist principle of feng shui so that their furniture and homes are in
balance with nature.

Beliefs
In China all city parents can only have one
child per family and in rural areas you are allowed to have two children.
All children are expected to obey their parents and are supposed to spend a
lot of time on their homework. Games that the children play are jump rope,
hopscotch, hide and seek and tag.
Children start school at the age of six.
School is six days a week from 8:00am-5:00pm and they have a two hour lunch
period. Boys and girls both get the same education.
Food
I n China about 2/3 of Chinese workers are
working on a farm. The main products that are grown are rice,
wheat, cotton, silk, tobacco, peanuts and fruit. China is one
of the main producers of rice, cotton and tobacco.

People in China eat with chop sticks.

Art and Architecture
Some 2,400 years ago, workers started putting
up the Great Wall. It became the world's longest structure, with a
main section 2,150 miles long. It was built to keep out invaders.
