Searingtown School

Author: I am Jessie. I am in the 5th grade. My family is all from China. My sister was born in Brooklyn. I was born in Flushing. 

Geography

Bangladesh's capital city is Dhaka. It is in the eastern and northern hemisphere. It is on the continent of Asia. Famous places on Bangladesh are Hiron Point, Cox's Bazaar, Mainimati Ruins, Madhupur Forest Reserve, Bhawai National Park, Lowacherra Forest, Telepara Forest, and Shaheed Minar.

Population

The population is 129 to 132 million people!!!

 

 

Economy

The currency in Bangladesh is called Taka.   People in Bangladesh grow rice, fruits, and vegetables or buy them. Some times the fruits and vegetables are sent from a different country.

Family Values

The family members are the father, mother, and any children. The responsibilities of the mother and father is to work and to take care of the children. Some grandparents live with their family. 

The children go to school and they do chores sometimes. The children begin school at 7:30. They begin school at the age of four. They go to college too.

Religion

The  religious beliefs are Islam, Hindu, Muslim, and Buddhist. 

 

Climate

The weather in Bangladesh is usually humid. The natural disaster in Bangladesh is the heat wave.

 

Food

In Bangladesh rice is grown. There are many kinds of rice they cook. They get food by picking  their own or by buying food from a village. The staple food is rice. The eat it daily. 

In Bangladesh chopsticks are used. Knives, forks, and spoons are used too. The typical day menu is rice mixed with all kinds of stuff.

Fun and Recreation

In Bangladesh people play games called cricket, soccer and badminton.

 

Language:

The languages are Bangla and English.
