PROCESS
How to Accomplish Your Task!
- Create a concept map in Inspiration. Create a web with
your explorer's name in the main idea and then use rapid fire
to web out WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY and HOW.
- When you are finished with your research, check your research. Look for
mistakes or for things that simply don't make sense. If you see any problems,
go back to your source and doublecheck your information. Once you are satisfied
with your research, print out your web in outline form. You will use this
outline to write your narrative for your vodcast..
- You may use books, websites, and our online databases to
find your information.
Most websites
have copyright
information, and even if they don't, it is still illegal
to pass off other people's work as your own. You must put
the information into your own words.
- You must include a bibliography (also knows as “Works
Cited” page) in your research. You must list all
the resources you used for your research. It is very important
that you keep
track of your resources while you are researching. While
you research, keep open your Research Notebook to
record the title, website URL, author, and the day you accessed
the information. Answers.com and World Book Online will actually
create the citation for you which you can just copy and paste
into your Research Notebook. Otherwise, you can go to the MLA
Citation Maker to create your citations
- As you research, you will
also be collecting images for your vodcast. Just as you have to create
citations for information, you must also
cite your image sources. You must use copyright-free images. A list of
websites
that offer copyright-free images can be found on our Resources page.
