This project can be modified to focus an any state or several states. For state information resources other than New York, go to Nifty Fifty States.
Participate in this project! We would love to share state information with another class through Skype or through blogging. Please contact me if you are interested. We are also linked at Google Historical Voyages and Events- You can sign up to participate in that project by contacting the project creator:Carol LaRow
The culminating experience for this project should be a "board room" simulation of the Apprentice television show. Students should present their work to the rest of the class, with teachers re-enacting the roles of Donald T., etc. You may choose to hire one winner or declare all students winners.
This project addresses the New York State Social Studies Learning Standard 1: Students will use a variety of intellectual skills to demonstrate their understanding of major ideas, eras, themes, developments, and turning points in the history of the United States and New York as well as ISTE NETS.
This project is registered at MidLink Magazine.
