For nothing is fixed, forever and forever and forever, it is not fixed; the earth is always shifting, the light is always changing, the sea does not cease to grind down rock. Generations do not cease to be born, and we are responsible to them because we are the only witnesses they have. The sea rises, the light fails, lovers cling to each other, and children cling to us. The moment we cease to hold each other, the sea engulfs us and the light goes out.--James Baldwin

Building Bridges for Children's Rights is a shared learning project available online at the Electronic Educational Village.

It is our hope to provide teachers and students around the world with the resources and motivation to make a difference . This web site is intended to act as a source of educational information on children's rights issues, particularly in the area of child labor. Building Bridges for Children's Rights will serve as a bridge from Long Island, New York for middle school and high school classes to get involved either locally, nationally or globally.

Upper elementary classes, as well as middle school classes, may choose to participate in Childbridge, an online children's rights learning module geared towards the younger student.
