Broadcast –
You will create a CNN-type news production, running no longer than
4 minutes. Your newscast will focus on informing your audience about
child labor issues in the countries researched by your class.
Documentary – You will create
a documentary about child labor in general. Your documentary will
talk about Hines and Parker, include footage of Chivy Sok, and give
a voice to real child labor victims. You should include general
worldwide statistics about child labor—how many children work---what
kinds of work?
Documentaries shape
complex topics into ideas and understandings accessible to others.
They are either narrated or told in the actual words of the participants
themselves (perhaps re-enacted dialogue) based on published interviews,
letters, journals, recordings and other artifacts.
