Child Labor Around the World
In this part of our research, we will be exploring different countries around the world.

What factors are important in the occurence of child labor?

By collecting data on the countries we are studying, we may be able to make some inferences about indicators that contribute to the occurence of child labor. To begin this part of our research, you will need to download the Country Research Data Organizer (opens in Microsoft Word). Note that items to be investigated have a number next to them that correspond to an online resource below

What types of child labor occur in the country I am researching?

You will need to download the Child Labor Hazardous Work report form.

In this part of the research you will visit the Department of Labor or DOL-Country Profiles online to find out the number of child laborers in your country and the percentage of children between the ages of 5-14 in the workforce. When you research the Department of Labor site, look at the Child Labor Data Chart. BE SURE TO CLICK ON THE Estimated Number of Child Workers in Age Range (thousands) NUMBER FOR YOUR COUNTRY. You will also be asked to describe the types of hazardous work children are engaged in in that country.
